Remembering MLK's Dream

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is one of my heroes--a man who has left a tremendous legacy!

Today in the United States, many across the country remember the life and legacy of a great man, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He was a man who dedicated his life to equality, justice, and a dream. I believe he wanted all of us to live the American dream in harmony, and anyone who wants to see equality is a hero in my book.

As a Black man in the United States, there are a host of odds against me. I have to fight against media depictions and portrayals, stereotypes, and a host of other hindrances on a daily basis. I know things have gotten better because this blog is living proof! It feels good to interact with so many cool people in the travel industry and not have my skin color be a problem. So I take this time to say a big "Thank You!" Thanks for seeing my cruisetacular character and not focus on my outer appearance!

Together, we have helped make Dr. King's dream a reality and I am glad we can make strides in the right direction! Keep seeing the world without differences and we'll help the next generation live in a much nicer place. May God Bless you all and I hope you keep cruising! Much Love--Shon!
